Memorial Day: USS Arizona Memorial

Hawaii has such a unique history.  I remember when I went to the USS Arizona Memorial.  There is such a stillness and peace about the place.

I remembered the stories of the men trapped in the ships and those outside could hear them banging for help.  My grandfather who served as a Marine  remained terrified of airplanes till the day he died decades later after the war.  2,402 military personnel were killed the day Pearl Harbor was attacked.

We all look forward to the summer with the warm weather, BBQs and picnics.  Let's not forget the sacrifices our soldiers have made and continue to make for our country.
