An Easter Brownie Patch
This is a really simple Easter dessert made with boxed brownie mix, chocolate frosting, crushed Oreo dirt and white chocolate covered strawberries! The idea for this dessert came from Delish who has this adorable video that shows you how to make this.
The only thing I did differently was make a homemade chocolate frosting, use a food processor to create the Oreo dirt instead of just crushing the Oreos (I wanted smaller crumbs rather than large chunks of cookies), and one bag of orange Wilton candy melts to cover the strawberries.
While this would be fine perfectly on its own, what would a carrot patch be without bunnies and Easter eggs?
For decorations I used some yellow bunny peeps, sour gummy eggs and green coconut Easter "grass." The coconut grass is simple to make. All you do is mix a bit of green food coloring (I used Wilton leaf green food coloring -- that is what I had on hand) with about a half teaspoon of water then pour the mixture into a ziplock bag filled with 2 cups of sweetened shredded coconut flakes. Seal the ziplock bag then shake the contents until the green color is distributed evenly.
Pier 1 Imports had these adorable hipster bunny plates that I thought were too cute to pass up. My little ones love these plates. The bunny faces just make them laugh.
Happy Easter baking!
