The Vintage Angel: Jessica Galbreth

"All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy;
for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves;
we must die to one life before we can enter another."
~ Anatole France ~

Jessica Galbreth has always been one of my favorite fantasy artists.  She has the most beautiful watercolor paintings of fairies, mermaids, witches, goddesses and other magical beings.

Much to my surprise when I recently checked out her website I found her entire Enchanted Art series has been retired since February 2011 and she has begun an entirely new line called The Vintage Angel.  She explains her radical change HERE on her blog.

Pablo Picasso once said, "Painting is just another way of keeping a diary."  Jessica is now on a different spiritual path.  It makes sense that her art would also change.   While I am saddened that she will no longer be creating some of my favorite magical creatures, I wanted to take a moment welcome her new artistic direction and celebrate her past artwork.

What this also means is that once her fairy figurines have sold out, they're gone!  I have never collected fairy figurines before but I always had it mind to do so *someday*.  It turns out that day has arrived and I have been preoccupied with trying to choose my favorites of the bunch!
